Hugo was born and bred in Warwick, where the Purple Monster studio is based. After being inspired by his dad, who is an author, Hugo was drawn to the creative sector. With a love of films and television alongside writing, he studied Film and English Language at college. Following Sixth Form, he opted for an apprenticeship rather than the university route, and found himself as a Broadcast Production Apprentice for Purple Monster in February 2022.

After passing his apprenticeship and being offered a full time position, you can now find Hugo editing showreels, producing and mixing ‘Join George’, and supporting Sam in the studio, or Dani in graphic production.

In his spare time, film remains Hugo’s passion, and he’ll likely be sat watching an old classic or a new release (unless a Manchester United game is on, of course) with his partner and their cat, Tiger, often narrating over with “fun” facts about the technical aspects – much to the annoyance of anyone else in the room.
